Color, color, color

Everyone sees color differently because it evokes an emotion from us. For me, I love the richness and the ambiguity of what a color make “speak”. Sometimes I take pause in color depending on what the media might be and if there something that intrigues me to take notice.

The yarn below was made for our little store; our little island. It has both subtle and rich hues. To see it hanging while drying is one thing, but to see it knit up is amazing. It looks like the sand and water.

Playing with color on a needlepoint canvas is something I truly love.  The evolution of the canvas comes through with  chosen threads, stitches and different fibers. Color is what I see first.  It is fun to see it come alive when stitching and how different your piece may be from where it started.

Color is inspiring, it is brilliant and bold, soft and quiet all in one. It makes me smile. It makes me cry, it brings raw emotions at times and reflective moments depending on the day.  But without it, I would be lost. It is a part of my everyday, whether its helping someone find a yarn to do a project in or pulling threads for a canvas. And then there are times when I just sit here and look at all that I am surrounded by. I love color.
