Introducing Initial K Studio

I am a true believer that everyone comes into your life with purpose. I may not know what the purpose is immediately. I may never know, but I believe it is not just random. Some will be there forever and others just pass through. 

When Kristi shared her story with me, my heart sank. I was sad for her in so many ways. I could understand the fear and the unknowing part of it all. Without going into details, it was quite an ordeal. Needlepoint saved her.

Like many things in life, we come out differently than we went in when faced with huge life obstacles - our focus changes. Our dreams and visions change or in a lot of cases, become clearer. These situations shape us one way or another. They are a part of us and the scars we carry are part of our history. For Kristi, her next chapter, her purpose brought her to us. While needlepoint saved her, it also graced her with the gift to create canvases for us.

Kristi's work is striking. It's minimal but powerful with color and dimension. The abstract nature is strong and vibrant. As I look at her canvases on the wall, I fall in love with the designs over and over again. I fall in love with the use of color and the unbusiness of the piece. It's minimalist but mind provoking as you stare at it. 

When she isn't designing a quilt or needlepoint canvas or stitching, she is happily chasing around 2 young boys.
